Texas singer-songwriters Max Stalling at Matt Hillyer will perform with the one of the legends who influenced their styles, Don Williams, in the next Threadgill Series Concert in Greenville.
Williams is a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame. He has had 17 #1 hits. He will celebrate the release of his
first album in eight years, with his visit to Greenville to headline the Threadgill series.
Born in Florida in 1939, Williams grew up near Corpus Christi. He was playing guitar by age 12, and performed in bands as a teenager. Between 1974 and 1991, Williams had at least one major hit every year. He was the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year in 1978. His “Tulsa Time” was the ACM Record of the Year for 1979.
“And So It Goes” will be available from Sugar Hill on June 19.
