When I heard that the Eli Young Band had won an ACM Award for its song, “Crazy Girl,” I contacted our friends at Billy Bob’s Texas to get their comment. After all, the band had debuted the song on the stage of the world’s largest honky tonk.
Little did I know that Billy Bob’s had a prize of its own!
The ACM Club of the Year Award went to Billy Bob’s Texas. I found out from Pam Minick. She said they were in the audience Sunday night in Las Vegas. That must have been an incredible experience. She said they are excited about their award. They are also very proud of the Denton band, who chose to use Billy Bob’s to launch “Crazy Girl.”
“We are so proud of The Eli Young Band on their ACM song of the year award for ‘Crazy Girl,'” said
Pam. ” Watching them grow as the ‘hometown’ favorites here in the Fort Worth area has been an incredible journey. ‘Crazy Girl’ was well received by the audience on New Years Eve 2010 here at Billy Bob’s, and the nation got on the Eli Young ‘Bandwagon’! We look forward to their continued success and appearances here at The World’s Largest Honky Tonk.”
