Austin, TX — Gary P. Nunn continues to receive critical acclaim for his latest album, TAKING TEXAS TO THE COUNTRY, while working diligently to promote the new music with tour dates and special appearances.

Combining contemporary modern sounding arrangements with deep-rooted Texas vocals, Nunn’s formula for ongoing critical and public success can be attributed to his desire to keep the music he creates authentic and his audiences entertained. Emphasizing the sounds of classic country, Nunn has a knack for delivering songs that will stir emotions and move boots across the dance floor, as demonstrated on the 13 new tracks making up TAKING TEXAS TO THE COUNTRY. A true veteran on the Texas scene, his music has inspired a movement and he continues to lead the pack with this latest collection.

CountryChart.com applauds Nunn for “taking Texas down a country path” in this recent review: “Finding an album that a grandson, father and grandfather can enjoy together on a hunting or fishing trip is almost impossible. However, Gary P. Nunn has done it. He’s crafted a near perfect Texas country album with TAKING TEXAS TO THE COUNTRY. It offers a cool Texas country vibe mixed with traditional country sensibilities.”

Backed by his Bunkhouse Band (Derek Groves on guitar, Bracken Hale on bass and Beau Johnson on drums), Nunn has been touring the Lone Star state performing his radio single off the album “The Girl Just Loves to Dance,” as well as a choice selection of new music and perennial favorites. Upcoming shows are scheduled throughout the summer and include stops in Austin, the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Houston, San Antonio and a host of other cities.

Nunn recently took some time out of his busy promotional and tour schedule to sit down with Amy Kushnir as a special guest on the “My Texas Today” Web site. Armed with a recipe for A Blueberry Topped Lemon Tart, a favorite made by wife Ruth, Nunn showed off a true and genuine Texas-sized personality talking music, food and good times. The video of this appearance is available online now at www.MyTexasToday.com.
