Matt Koger Working with the Little Things

By Sam Moore I consider Matt Koger to be one of the “good guys” of Texas music. And once again, the Greenville doctor/singer/songwriter is proving me correct. On the night of his 42nd birthday, Matt was in the studio, when he says something really cool happened. “I sat down to record a new song, ‘The Little Things,’ which was written by the whole family,” he said. “It is a simple song, recorded in one take with me playing and singing at the same time. After I laid it down, I just kept on straight into another new song, ‘Tall in the Saddle.’” By the time he got out of his chair, Matt had recorded 10 new songs. “The vibe was great and the recordings came out so good, that I decided to release a new CD called ‘The Little Things,’” he said.
