Bringing together a diverse range of rising roots-music stars and beloved veterans, the 27th annual Old Settler’s Music Festival lineup is shaping up to be the most exciting yet. The partial lineup already includes young Americana sensations John Fullbright and Shovels & Rope, bluegrass legends Dr. Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys, folk-rockers Donna the Buffalo, blues brothers the North Mississippi Allstars, funky steel stars Robert Randolph & the Family Band and local favorite Bob Schneider. Discounted early-bird packages go on sale Friday, Nov. 15, for the four-day festival, slated for Thursday-Sunday, April 10-13, at the Salt Lick Pavilion and Camp Ben McCulloch in the Texas hill country outside of Austin. They are available at oldsettlersmusicfest.org and 1.888.512.SHOW. Early-bird packages provide a savings of up to 23 percent over regular rates, and only a limited number are available at this price. Buying early assures access to camping at the
popular Ben McCulloch grounds, site of a fourth stage and many special late-night jam sessions. Camping has sold out completely in the past two years. Early-bird package options are: four-day with camping, three-day (Friday through Sunday) with camping, three-day without camping and the all-inclusive platinum pass. (Children 12 and under may attend for free when accompanied by a paid adult.) Campground electrical permits ($25) and RV/trailer passes ($75 including all hookups) also are available. To provide an optimum camping experience, only a limited number of RV/trailer passes will be sold. More than 30 award-winning roots, bluegrass and Americana artists will again take the festival’s four stages, including Austin’s own Shinyribs and Wood & Wire. Other confirmed acts include Tim O’Brien & Darrell Scott, Peter Rowan, the Gibson Brothers, Elephant Revival, Della Mae, Humming House, St. Paul & the Broken Bones, Lily & Madeleine, Lindi Ortega, the Deadly Gentlemen and Lake Street Dive.
