WHAT:
The Texas Music Coalition (TMC) is currently accepting submissions for the 2009 Jack Skiles Music Scholarship.
WHEN:

DETAILS:
The Jack Skiles Music Scholarship continues the legacy of Jack Skiles, a noted musician and member of TMC, who fostered the growth of local community music, and is open to all South Texas residents currently enrolled in music classes on a high school (including home school), technical college, junior college, or university level, such as:
* Music composition
* Music education
* Music/sound engineering
* Music journalism
* Music management
* Music performance (vocal or instrumental)
* Music production
* Music theory
* Music therapy
* Entertainment law
This year, the scholarship will give the winning student a Grand Prize of $500 to further their studies; the second-place student will receive $250 toward their studies. Both students, and one or more runners-up, will also receive a complimentary one-year membership in TMC.
