17 May 17 Lots of Free Music at Levitt This Weekend

Summer in North Texas is upon us, and Levitt Pavilion Arlington is kicking off its summer season of free concerts early this year! The Baylor Orthopedic & Spine Hospital’s 2017 Summer Concert Season at the Levitt starts May 19 with concerts at 8 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Friday: Featured on HBO’s Treme,
Rebirth Brass Band is a true New Orleans tradition, evolved from playing the streets of the French Quarter to playing festivals and stages all over the world. While committed to upholding the tradition of brass bands, they’ve also extended themselves into the realms of funk and hip-hop to create their signature sound. Their opening night concert at 8 p.m. is sponsored by Hooligan’s Pub and Kool Keg.

Saturday: The sweet sounds of unforgettable soft rock from the ’70s and ’80s will float over the lawn when Ambrosia returns to the Levitt stage at 8 p.m., sponsored by Baylor Orthopedic & Spine Hospital at Arlington. Ambrosia garnered five hit singles, five Grammy nominations, heavy FM airplay, sold-out concerts around the world, and the respect and admiration of the musical community. With three of its four original members still performing, Ambrosia continues to tour and delight audiences with their hits, “How Much I Feel,” “You’re the Only Woman,” “Holdin’ On” and “Biggest Part of Me.”

Sunday: Like many young Texans growing up, Bleu Edmondson’s early years were spent focused on sports rather than music. He picked up a guitar for the first time during his college years, learned a few chords, and his future was set. He brings his earthy, electrifying country music to the Levitt at 8 p.m. to round out the opening weekend of the summer concert season. Bleu knows how to crank up the amps and throw down hard. His raucous live show has earned him street cred and respect among his fans as well as his musical peers throughout Texas. His concert is sponsored by Arlington Highlands, and will include a free picnic blanket to the first 1,000 concert-goers.
