			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Texas Music Journal came across the following announcement concering national exposure for the Texas Latin Music Awards, good news for a very popular segment of Texas music!</p>
<p>KAKW Univision 62, Austin, announces that the 5th annual “Premios Texas” (Texas Latin Music Awards), a Latin music awards celebration showcasing some of the most recognized artists in the industry, will air nationally on Galavisión, the country’s leading Spanish-language cable network. The gala event will take place at the Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for Performing Arts in Austin, Texas, and will broadcast nationally on Galavisión on Sunday, August 23rd at 8:00 pm ET/PT (7:00pm CT).</p>
<p>“Premios Texas” bestows awards annually to bands and artists from various Latin music genres including &#8211; Pop, Tropical, Regional Mexican, Rock and Urban &#8211; as well as a Lifetime Achievement Award given to a performer who, during their lifetime, has made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to Latin music.</p>
<p>Among the artists scheduled to perform this year are Olga Tañón, merengue artist and 19-time “Premio Lo Nuestro” winner, three-time Latin GRAMMY and two-time GRAMMY winner; Makano, Panamanian reggaeton artist who holds the number one spot on the Billboard Latin Charts; Bobby Pulido, platinum-selling Texas native and long time Tejano music favorite; K-Paz de La Sierra, top-selling duranguense band and fan favorite; Yahir, popular male vocalist and reality TV superstar from Mexico; and El Guero y su Banda Centenario, another chart-topper of the duranguense music genre; Reyli, Latin pop artist whose album has climbed the U.S. Billboard Hot Latin Tracks and gone double platinum in Mexico; and Vallejo, the Austin-based rock band will kick-off the show.</p>
<p>“We are extremely proud and honored to bring ‘Premios Texas’ to Latin music fans across the country through the Galavisión Network, reaching over 54 million U.S. homes,” says Luis Patino, vice president and general manager, KAKW Univision 62 and KTFO TeleFutura. This honor only amplifies the significance of Austin, Texas as the live music capital of the U.S.”</p>
<p>Now in its fifth year, “Premios Texas” continues to receive full support from music fans and entertainment industries in the United States and Latin America. Nominees, performers and presenters will convene in Austin for this event from several Latin American countries and various U.S. cities, making Austin, Texas the “Live Latin Music Capital of the World.”</p>
